If i may add something to that ,very interesting for me as a Greek, scenario:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Crete

I would give a hand to be able to play in a such scenario me and some friends from Crete , as local resistance of course...

I you chaps don't have Hellenic Army uniforms, what hope is there for the rest of us?

Yup, that why i assume the organisers are wisely opting for the allies to be brit/anzac/south african as its largely all kd, 37, mkii....

Hi, thanks for all the questions. When we get the full details up (which will be soon), hopefully all should be answered.

Reading through, it mentions stopping over but having to get up early on Sunday to make way for the UCAP open-day players, so must be the Saturday.

Quick question.
Could the fj wear tropical uniforms as i believe these were first issued in the April of 1941.

They were not worn at Crete.

At crete they wore wool under the jump smock. It was far too hot for this and you see some units fighting in just the smock like 'shorts' overalls and boots.

I mean its not my game, the AGS lads might allow tropical kit but I just remember seeing the pics and reading how they didnt expect to be there so long or it to get so hot and the wool uniforms were a massive problem for them.

Ramcke brigage had tropical kit and its odd they didnt equip the FJ at crete with it... probably not enough for divisional scale of issue i imagine.

:D
It's a one day event. There will be indoor sleeping facilities on Friday and Saturday night. If UCAP schedules an open day on Sunday, we need to be out of their way by 09:00 unless anyone fancies staying for that.

I understand that the GJ only wore wool also...

Indeed, there was no tropical gear issues for the operation, after the initial fighting was over they used a lot of British KD shorts which is what you see them wearing in a lot of the photos.

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
